This amazing building was designed by the Swedish architect Hans Asplund and was built between 1955 and 1957. Hans Asplund is said to be the one who in 1950 coined the term “nybrutalism” (new brutalism) in a comment to Bengt Edman and Lennart Holm. The term spread through English colleagues visiting Sweden.
His father was Gunnar Asplund who also was an architect.

Eslöv Civic hall (Medborgarhuset) 60 years in 2017
In September (29:th and 30:th) the Civic hall has it’s 60 year Anniversary. We will be there on a guided tour on the 30:th with Hans’ son, Olle and his wife Ann. The architect Mats Edström that was responsible for the renovation 2002-3 will also be there. Program and times for the jubilee (Swedish).
